Last week I joined in with the Birthday celebrations of a very special place; the place and the people who work there have more than touched my heart over the last 4 years.
Christopher’s is an amazing place in Guildford, one of two hospices that are part of Shooting Star Chase. They are a wonderful organisation supporting over 500 families with a child or teenager who are not expected to reach their 19th birthday.
Christopher’s 10th Birthday was celebrated at the same time as their annual Winter Wonderland, which I’ve had the honor of photographing a couple of times now. The great thing about Christopher’s is it’s a place of support and joy for all of the family, not just the child who is life-limited. So last Sunday afternoon, along with patron Max Clifford, families came to meet Santa in his grotto, receive massive bags of Christmas gifts, eat some yummy food, join in with Birthday and Christmas themed crafts, sing some carols and more.
Far from being a place of sadness, for me, Chirstopher’s is an uplifting place and an organisation I’m proud to help out whenever I can. For more about the children, their stories and the work of Shooting Star Chase click here.
